There's a stomach flu sending home kids at McAuliffe Elementary this week. While not confirmed, one teacher said that 55 kids were sent home with it yesterday morning and a few more in the afternoon. That number may not be accurate, but four children were sent home with it from just one class.It seems to be a classic stomach bug -- fever and all.
Today, was much better.
Smith and Blackwell Elementary Schools haven't been hit, while Mead sent home a couple kids with it yesterday.
Could this be another Norovirus outbreak like the one last year at Blackwell? Let's hope not. Meanwhile, wash your hands and pop that acidophilus.
